In order to train your pets, go talk to the Core Alchemist NPC in any town.

2. The maximum level a pet can reach is 10, and they will gain EXP every time you use a skill.

3. You cannot gain skill exp from dummy. You can gain additional EXP for your pets if you use Premium + Plus beads.

4. For every level you will gain 1 skill slot. Every time you level you can have the option of filling that slot with a skill.

(one lucky *** korean w/ horrible sense of names)

5. You will have to use Force Core Highest to train your pet with success rate of 100%. Slot is random.

6. Upon reaching the maximum level, your pet will change appearance. Just like a Pokemon. Or Digimon. Or whatever the hell -mon there is.

That's the basis of the Pet system. Now let's look at everything in more detail.

1. Training Pet

Insert animal, insert Force Core Highest. Success rate is 100%, and skill gained is randomized. Cost of learning new skills will increase as the pet level goes up, or so they say.

One question though, is that there is an item called Action Kit, which hasn't been implemented yet. Probably will be implemented later on.

Skill addition is performed at the Core Alchemist NPC and costs alz determined by the level and a single Force Core Highest.

Levels 1~5 = 1,000,000 al

Levels 6~8 = 2,000,000 alz

Level 9 = 3,000,000 alz

Level 10 = 4,000,000 alz

2. Increasing Pet Level

You accumulate EXP for your pet by using skills. Items that give out skill EXP does not work with it (ie. Adepts). No one knows if certain skills give more EXP or not.

3. Pet Skills

4. Pet Naming

You can give your pet a name via Pet Naming Kit. Available at the Port Lux Grocer this card costs 150,000,000 alz. A renamed pet cannot be seen by the apposing nation on war channel/map they will only see the pet type name for example “Dire Boar” instead of your pets real name be it “Fluffy” or “Ralph”.

(example of pet with customized name, CanCan)

(pet rename card. try to guess what it does)

5. Pet Trading

In the past, it was impossible to trade Pets obtained from the Cash Shop; however, with the recent update, you can purchase Pet Sleeping Kit, which is used to seal your pet and trade them. These Sleeping kits are separated via levels.

(variety of types of pokeball, master ball not out yet)

6. Deleting Skills

You can use Pet Untrain Kit to delete your skills. Be warned, it will delete EVERYTHING.

(fgdssd)

7. Maxed out Pets

At level 10, your pets will change appearances.

Additional pictures from Cabal Life :

8. Pet Training Problems

One of the main concern in this new system is that while it is nice to use the once useless pets into giving your characters a boost, you will need accumulation of same skills more than once in order to actually see these effects. This will prove to be very difficult seeing that every skill is randomized. Furthermore, all pet kits are cash shop items, so the game seems to force you to buy cash shop items in order to model your pets the way you want it to.

[Guide] Pet Training System - Advance by the new way carefully until you find Invader Excavator-R2 and kill it, if you're low level maybe you've got to use one or two Battle Auras.

4. After killing R2D2 (xD!), advance over the bridge, keep on the only way to until you find Mecha Buffalo+, try to extract it from the chamber without breaking the sticks that there are in the room, breaking these sticks can make appear more Mecha Buffalos. After killing Mecha Buffalo+ the door will close, and you'll have to enter by the portal and kill Mecha Bear.
NOTE: Get sure you're in a corner with your friends to avoid killing the sticks, if you're low level you'll have problems if you break them

5. Now you'll have to enter by a swamp, there are 5 red sticks that you can kill, called Ruin In Dusk. You'll have to kill only one to make the next door open. Guide yourself by the map that FitaEspain, one of my guildmates created, xD.

5. After killing the needed stick go by the new way and kill next boss: Pogarr

6. Now kill the last harpy boss: Rik.

14. Now you'll have to go back a little, near where you killed the first harpy boss and now you'll have to kill both ogre bosses

15. Well, now the thing will be more difficult if you're level 75~80 and you go alone! Now here they come, the minotaurs. Just advance by the portal without killing any minotaur until you reach the bottom of the place, now kill the three minotaurs that are at the botom. And a big door will open that lead you to the final dungeon boss called: Zidgris Faello.

Published by InF3RNo
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-66150553180116692772008-05-12T22:21:00.004+08:002008-05-12T22:30:35.124+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - Making Cabal skins with GIMP_The Ultimate Guide to making

This is how you install the skins - Skin Changing guide by bor3dom
This is where you download skins - *~The Ultimate collection of Cabal skins!~*

THIS THREAD IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TECHNICAL NOOBIES.

Hey guys! After my 1st completion of skinning, I have decided to share how to make Cabal skins!

1st, you will need a DDS reader. Cabal skins, cursors and many other parts of the User Interface are saved as DDS files. You will need Windows Texture Viewer (WTV) to view DDS files like any ordinary PNG or JPEG file.

Windows Texture Viewer (When viewing images you might see a coloured background. This is not a bug or error, WTV cant read transparency.)
DDS Thumbnail viewer(Optional, for easier skin browsing)

I recommend that skinners should use GIMP 2.0. It's free and easy to use. It can't read DDS files yet, but I'll give you a link to enable it.

GIMP 2.4
DDS Plugin(extract to C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins)

Here is a preview of what you will be looking at when you start skinning.

Basic Image skin

Example :

Quote:

Cabal skin v0.1

Download

Pictures :

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3...2117540jh4.jpg
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/1...2117550ob6.jpg
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/2...2117550jw3.jpg
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/8...2117510pa4.jpg
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/8...2117540dv2.jpg
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/9...2117480do7.jpg
http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/5...2117470ir0.jpg

All you have to do is get a template to help you get a basic shape of the skin.
This is the best template. Download

Open the template and create a layer below the main surface. This layer is meant for the picture you are going to place.

For me, I'm going to put a picture behind the "Skill" window. So I will have to cut the picture down to fit the window.

So basically it's just putting pictures behind each window.

Advance UI Skin

Example :

Quote:

OldSchool v1.3 by TheThink

Download

Pictures :

http://adam.moomookau.org/swordam56.JPG
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...-1126-0000.jpg

This method of skinning is tedious and complicated. You have to get the shape you want, while making sure that it's still in allignment so that the game can read it properly. To colour it, just use whatever brushes you want, or if you feel for comfortable with paint bucket, go ahead. You can cut out the UI for your own use.

Tips :
Save files 2x bigger than the original for better quality.
Do not forget to watermark your creation. (Put a signature at the login screen or something)
Remember to keep to your theme! If you put random pictures everywhere, you skin will end up awful!

Skinning is about as simple as that. You just have to get used to GIMP, which is not very hard.

SO GET SKINNING!

Credits to the skin makers from the Cabal Europe forums, The Black Stars Clan forums and the Cabal Database forums. And ESPECIALLY Alfarjamie who made the Photoshop guide on skinning.

Basic Guide

Open up your skin by clicking File > Open and look for it.

Usually it will be named as one of these, so select the one you want to edit or modify.

You can just cut and paste windows or components of other skins into the one your editing. The maxium of additional skill xp is 36!)
Your adept armor should have atleast +3 Skill Xp at each part (so dont be shy to spend some money at crafting or buying adept stuff !It's a big difference between +2 each part to +3).
Your weapon should have +4 Skill XP (you dont need the highest weapon you can wear - e.g. Citrine Crystals/Orbs are enough to skill up fast and easy).

Formula to calculate Skill EXP:

* = times

For punching the mob you gain 3 Sword/Magic points when you hit it (see: "Boxing Mobs" Method4).

For casting an attack skill:
"Cast time of skills" * ca. 12 = gained Skill XP

For casting a buff skill:
"Cast time of buff" * 3,6 = gained Skill XP

just add the adept items

Example:

Force Archer Skill "Power Shot" at level 9
Casting time: 1.3 Sec.
Used equipment:
Board +4
Citrine Crystals +8
Adept Rings + Amulette (Level 80 Items) +20
Adept Aramid Battle Suit +4
(all in all +36 Skill XP)

Calculating:
"Casting time" * 12 = 15.6
15.6 + "Skill XP Items" (36 Skill XP) = 51.6 Skill XP

Methods

Here I will list pro's and contra's of each farming method. Which method you choose is up to you!

Method1 Fast Skill XP Farming with using Combo
This method is the fastes - you gain at level 10 a skill called "Combo Start". With this skill you are able to cast spells without the delay of casting times (so you can cast one skill right after the other)!
A little bonus at this method is that you gain a certain % of additional skill xp:

Bonus:
Excellent: +30% Skill XP
Good: +10% Skill XP
Bad + 0% Skill XP
When you reach your eleventh hit then the action bar becomes very little but when you reach the 15 hit you gain additional skill xp and your combo is shown at the right window at the bottom!

PRO Fast Rank-UP; Combo-Support; Extra Skill XP;

CONTRA You must stay at the PC; Old PC's have a low FPS rate (Frames per second) so its hard to hit the action bar after the 11th hit;

Method2 Training Dummies

Ok this is the method which needs the most time. If you are a Premium Member then you are able to use these dummies. Every city has its own 4 dummies (they stand next to the city - often outside of the town). You can train up to 30% of your Skill Rank at those dummies (after reaching lvl 90 there is another way to skill up at dummies (mentioned below). This means that for example you can skill 30 of 90 skill ups at those puppets.
To skill afk there are 2 hints:

The Press-Down-Your-Button-All-The-Time-Hint:

Just put a coin or a sheet of paper between the skillbuttons (you should add your skills to your quickslotbar before).
Example how I did it:
I putted the fastest Skill in quickslot 1 -> pinched a piece of paper between button "1" and "2" so that the button got stuck (this means the button gets pressed all the time). Now your character casts nonstop (after targeting the dummy) the same skill. Important is that the button get STUCK!

The Window-Mode-Hint:

At first you switch in window mode (Options - Graphic - Activate Window Mode). Then you target the dummy and press the quickslot button for your skill. Press the button all the time, so that your char casts nonstop. While pressing the button click outside of the window (for example at the desktop or at the toolbar). Now stop pressing the button and your char should cast nonstop without pressing a button!

Ingame Shop Hint:

Just press the button again like at the Window-Mode-Hint and while pressing it hit the ingameshop button (little coin at the right buttom of your toolbar).

PRO You can be afk; 1/3 of the rank can be trained

CONTRA It takes a long time because you gain less xp then with the other methods; limited to 30% of the rank (except you are level 90+ and did the rankup quest); you HAVE to be a premium member;

NEW Method 2 b) Train at dummies over 30%

Like mentioned before we are now able to skill at dummies beyond 30%. The mean thing is that you HAVE to be 90+, did the level 90 rank up quest and own a premium account. If you have these things then you are able to level nonstop at those little dumb puppets without being at the PC. But there is a little thing which has to get mentioned:
After you passed 30% of your rank up (example: 30 of 90 ups) then you get less skill xp as before! So skilling up needs more time after the 30% (but of course you can continue)!

PRO No dumb skill farming anymore; you can skill up afk; nonstop skilling without interruption;

CONTRA Again you need to be premium; takes more time then any other method;

Method3 Skilling AFK at high level mobs

This method is the most riskfull method - you need to look for a mob with many health points (like the mobs in LiD, RS or UG). Best mobs for this are mobs with a "+" after their names or bossmobs in dungeons (they have more Hp than the others).
Ok now head on:
Take the cheapest and lowest weapon you can find (startup weapons are the best for this). Take armor which protects you well (the mob mustn't hit you too much or make too much damage!). Now the expensive part of this method: The Lifecapsules! You need them to heal your char while being afk. You can buy them from other players (really expensive!) or buy them via playershop (mine cost 1,60Euro / 999 Capsules).
Now look for a suitable mob - if you are level 50+ you also can enter a party dungeon and hit the closed gates (they have much hp and dont hurt you )
If you choose a mob notice following:
Your mob should stand alone and not surrounded by other mobs (so that you can "concentrate" at ONE mob!). I recommend the bosses in Lake in Dusk (they alway stand alone - but you need to own a mappart and you need to be level 75+).
Ok now let's begin:
Choose one of the hints I mentioned at the part of the training dummies (like Stucking a coin between your quickslot buttons etc.).
Now you can watch how your char beats up the mob while you just have to go afk ^^

PRO You can be afk and gain a lot of Skill XP;

CONTRA Riskfull; Expensive (because of the Lifecapsules); I recommend to do this when you reach level 50+;

Method4 Boxing

Last but not least...
this method is similiar to Method3 - you beat up a mob while being AFK.
At level 50 and rank "Expert" you can buy a interesting upgrade skill at the Instructor in Port Lux .
Skills are called:
1. Sword XP to Magic XP
2. Magic XP to Sword XP
This means: When you buy "Sword to Magic" you ONLY receive Magic Skill XP! So you could skill up your Magic Rank by using sword skills.
Now search again for a mob with many health points (like in Method3 mentioned).
But keep in mind following points:

1) The mob must give you atleast 5 XP each hit (you can see this at the right window at the bottom).

2) Auto-Attack has to be activated (Options -> Game -> Cross at "Auto Attack")

3) Choose Low-level-weapons again AND buy Lifecapsules!!!

[A small declaration at the edge: At dummies you cant do "Normal Attacks" because you dont get XP for it (you MUST get atleast 5 XP)! So you can attack mobs with normal attacks and the funny thing is that you recieve SKill XP for magic AND sword with boxing! But you get less than using normal Skills! But after buying the upgrade in Port Lux you concentrate your Skill XP to one section (magic -> sword; sword -> magic - sounds logical, eh?)]
After you did this, target a mob and press "Normal Attack". Now your char should begin to beat up the mob (if you use swords then your char should hit the mob with the sword).

PRO AFK-Skill-Leveling

CONTRA Less Skill XP than using other methods; Expensive (because of Lifecapsules); You must be level 50+ and at least rank "Expert" in one section;

NEW Small hints how to get more Skill XP

There are now some dungeons/quests which give you additional Skill XP.

As a reward for B1f Frozen Tower you gain 5000 Skill Xp after finishing the dungeon. And every skill xp quest gives you additional Skill XP.
Also those "new" T-helper-quests are very acceptable for farming Skill XP. You gain while farming mobs and cards a huge amount of XP! So don't get aggressive or desperate when you dont find your 50 cards (always think of the Skill XP )

This Guide Credits goes to vi0l3nt from another cabal guides forum.TQ

~[The Skill EXP Guide]~ - Written By vi0l3nt - Contributed By PrinceEvo
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=361297Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-59371658725642750122008-04-24T20:31:00.002+08:002008-04-24T20:33:35.715+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - DpS, DoC, Def & Skill levelsForeword:

I've realised that there is an increasing number of people(retards) posting up severely screwed up guides. We shall find out here.

First, lets take a look at a chart of skill leveling.

Credits to Myth and pigpigpig for telling me about the lvl 20 cooldown.

Yes I know its crappy, I did it myself, but nonethless lets analyse it:

It shows that at lvl 10, 13, 16, 19 and 20, your amplification goes up by 0.05
However, the cooldown also increases.
But, the following 2 levels decrease the cooldown time.
Following this logic, we can see that the optimum levels are, 9,12,15,18.

Before I go into discussing what level your skills should be at, I shall explain this:

Skill cooldowns are dependant of their cast times. VERY few skill have cast times which varry very largely with their cast times(Force kick is some such example) So in theory, a 3 seconds cast time skill is going to have 2.8-3.2 seconds cooldown time at lvl 9. This is of course only for some skills. G.Master, Completer and Trans skill have larger cooldowns.

Alright, heres what I'm gonna say:
Most skills should be left at level 15, if it THAT unbearable, level 12.

"But kiroshinoke!!!1111one!! you noob****! Level 15 cooldown so big! u noob issit! lvl 9 best LAAA!"

Yea I get that alot, so being nice, I shall explain to you peeps.

Mobbing skills

Mobbing is different from single targetting. When mobbing, you choose large area spells.

A normal person would mob with 2-3 skills.

Let's pretend we have 3 skills.

Poke, pinch and tickle.

Poke has a cast time of 2.3 seconds.
Pinch has a cast time of 3 seconds.
Tickle has a cast time of 2.5 seconds.

So assuming we're gonna mob in this way : poke pinch tickle poke pinch tickle.

Let's calculate when we are gonna cast poke again after we use it for the first time.

2.3(poke cast time) + 3.0 (pinch c.t) +2.5(tickle c.t)
= 7.8

We are ONLY going to use poke once again after 7.8 seconds. So why do u need it to be at level 9?(cool down of 2.3 seconds). Since we know that we have 7.8 seconds to spare, is it not logical we level it up to lvl 15 to get additional amplification and dmg?

Single targetting(includes pvp)

Single targetting skills are usually meant for pvp or bosses. They are usually massively high in dps. In pvp, they are usually accompanied by a large finishing attack.

Single targetting usually involves combos. The better you are at combo, the more dmg u can unleash. There are usually 3-5 skills used in pvp. I highly suggest you do not use 5 skills since it spreads ur skills out too much.

3 skills is a favourite of many ppl, but I don't get it. Having 3 damaging skills at lvl 12 means that you will recast a single skill again very soon, limitting your skill level to.. possibly 12? However 4 skills means you recast each skill later and allows all your skills to hit a healthy lvl 18, a much deadlier combo.

lets assume we hav 4 skills now.

Stabj00butt has a cast time of 2.8 seconds
Poke has a cast time of 2.3 seconds
Pinch has a cast time of 3 seconds
Tickle has a cast time of 2.5 seconds

We're casting it in this order : stabj00butt poke pinch tickle stabj00butt poke.

Let's calculate the time we will recast stabj00butt.

2.8+2.3+3+2.5 = 10.6 seconds.

So... why not max it to lvl 20 since we have that much time?

Because we're going to combo with these. Combo doesnt remove cast time or delay time, (yes, another flame at those wannabe guide posters).

Quote:

Comboes remove back swing time. For dota players you should know this term. For all the others, pretend you have a gun and your shooting it. Comboing means you don't have to reload, but you still have to pull the trigger and wait for the bullet to fly.

There is a way to calculate backswings but thats honestly too complicated for this forum. So to be safe, just assume combo removes 30% of cast time.

With that said, your skills should have a cooldown that is less than this formula:

(Skill 1 cast time+ skill 2 cast time + skill 3 cast time+ skill 4 cast time) x 70%

This concludes the part on skill levels

DPS (0 defence test)

What is DpS?

DpS stands for Damage per second. It refers to the amount of damage you can do to a target every second. It is useful to calculate just how much total damage output you have with your skills.

So why do I need to know my DpS?

Alot of people think that just because a skill can do alot of damage means that its damage is high. This is not entirely true(as proven later). If you know your own DpS, you can maximise your damage output and create the most devastating comboes you can achieve with your spells. This allows you do deal the highest damage, in the shortest time, utilising ur dmg potential to the fullest.

How do I calculate my DpS?

Here's a simple example as to how to do it. For this example we shall use 2 skills.
A beginner magic skill, terra arrow.
And an A.master skill terra break.

Here are the stats of the two spells

Quote:

Terra Arrow
1.65 amp
+63.4 additional attack
1.5 seconds cast time

Quote:

Terra Break
1.75 amp
+1045.6 additional attack
6.5 seconds cast time

Many will think that Terra break is the stronger skill. However, this is not entirely true. Let's calculate the DpS for both spells.
We can use a base of 500 atk 500 magic for this test.

Quote:

Terra arrow
1.65 x 500 (amp)
+63.4 (add. atk)
/1.5 (cast time)
DpS = 592.26

Quote:

Terra break
1.75 x 500 (amp)
+1045.6 (add atk)
/6.5 (cast time)
DpS = 295.48

So as you can see, terra arrow can easily do TWICE the amount of damage that terra break can do when casted consequtively. However, this does not mean that Terra break is weak, this will be explained in the next section.

--------------------------------------------

DpS (With defence)
Credits to ren99 for reminding me to put this part up

So why are we learning the higher ranks skill if even a novice skill can beat it?

The above shown calculations are done on a 0 defence test. In other words, they are the full damage you're going to be hitting. However, in reality this isnt possible. Even if a player strips himself of all his equipments and buffs, he's still probably going to have 100-300 def.

Why do we need to have a good gauge of an enemy's Def?

An enemy's defence is crucial into planning your perfect combo or your armour breaking comboes. Defence severely reduces th damage of your smaller DoC spells and thus effectively removes the ability for it to be used very well.

DpS calculation (with Def)

Assume the same 2 skills:

Quote:

Terra Arrow
1.65 amp
+63.4 additional attack
1.5 seconds cast time

Quote:

Terra Break
1.75 amp
+1045.6 additional attack
6.5 seconds cast time

Now we all know that 0 def does not exist. Let's calculate the DpS of the 2 spells when your target has 300/500/700 def, ignoring absolute guard.(See below for details on this)

Quote:

Terra arrow
1.65 x 500
+63.4
-------
0 Def damage = 888.4
300 Def damage = 588.4
500 Def damage = 388.4
700 Def damage = 188.4
-------
0 Def DpS= 593
300 Def DpS= 392
500 Def DpS= 259
700 Def DpS= 125.6

Quote:

Terra break
1.75 x 500
+1045.6
-------
0 Def damage= 1920.6
300 Def damage= 1620.6
500 Def damage= 1420.6
700 Def damage= 1220.6
-------
0 Def DpS= 295
300 Def DpS= 249
500 Def DpS= 219
700 Def DpS= 188

So as you can see, larger spells do have their uses. Small spells are affected largely by Def, their DpS dropping severely with each point of def your opponent has. Guessing your opponent's Def is very crucial into combo planning, otherwise, you'd be setback alot.

DoC

What is DoC?

DoC stands for Damage on Cast. In Cabal, the damage for a spell, the ENTIRE spell, is registered once u cast it, not when the hit lands. So in simple terms, ur damage kicks in once u hit the hotkey for the spell, the cast time is just the delay before u can cast another spell.

Why is DoC important?

Knowing your DoC is very important. It allows you to put in crucial hits when u need them, where u need them. The fact that the damage is applied instantly means that even if ur skill takes 90seconds to cast, if you judge it correctly, u can use it to kill someone instantly, leaving the cast time just as nice animation.

Using DoC well.

Most spells with high DoC have very high cast time, making their DpS weak. However if timed well, you can use it as a 0.1 seconds nuke to kill off someone. If someone will die when the spell is casted, the cant move during the whole duration of the skill and stands there to let u finish him off. However, if he will NOT die when the skill is casted, it means u just gave him a few seconds to beat on u while u cast ur sluggish spell. Using DoC spells are all about timing and judgement. Get a feel for ur skill and how much it hits an opponent, thats the best way to assure a smooth win.

How do I calculate my DoC?

This is alot simpler compared to DpS since cast time does not matter here.

Take the previous 2 examples.

Quote:

Terra Arrow
1.65 amp
+63.4 additional attack

Quote:

Terra Break
1.75 amp
+1045.6 additional attack

And here's the DoC calculations. Similiarly with a 500magic 500 attack base.

Quote:

Terra arrow
1.65 x 500(amp)
+63.4 (add. atk)
DoC : 888.40

Quote:

Terra break
1.75 x 500(amp)
+1045.6 (add. atk)
DoC: 1920.6

As you can see, Terra break is much larger in DoC, and thus can be casted when the person has more hp, and allows more room for mistake.

-------------------------------

Disclaimer

For this part of the guide its mainly guesswork on my part. I tried my best to get as close to the actual number as possible. If anyone wants to correct me on this section, feel free to do so, I'd change it and credit it to you.

Def

What is Def?

Def is short for Defence. Defence is probably as important in cabal as attack and magic. 1 defence blocks 1 damage. Simple as that.

How is Def important?
Defence in cabal is very crucial. It gives ur survivability and the ability to take in many hits even with a low hp. The ability of absolute guard also adds to how important this stats is.

For those who has played maple out there, all know that defence in maple is bulls**t. With 0 seconds cooldown pots and an invunerability frame, def is just about as useful as dung. However, any player of cabal attempting to play with 0 def and 92342834672435423232364 magic and attack is prolly gonna die at least a hundred times before he hits lvl 50.

Absolute guarding
How many of you are FSes or warriors here? For that fact, probably anyone would have encountered this:

Say you have X def and a mob comes along.

*WHACK*

He hits you for 100 dmg.

2 days later u come back with X+5 def and he hits you for 15 damage.

This is because you have absolute guarded his damage. This is how it works

From what I have researched, the absolute guard rate is 20% of your total def. What that means is this.

Let's assume u have 1000 def.
Lets assume there are 2 mobs,
Squirrel has 1300 atk
Chipmunk has 1150 atk.

Without absolute guard, you would take:

1300-1000= 300 dmg from squirrel
1150-1000= 150 dmg from chipmunk

However, absolute guard exists.
The absolute guard amount is 20% of ur def, or 1000 x 20%, or 200.

So lets recalculate for the mobs.

Squirrel hits u for 300.
300 is larger then 200?
Yes.
So no dmg is guarded and he hits you the full 300.

Chipmunk hits u for 150
150 is larger then 200?
No.
So all the damage is guarded and u recieve minimum damage.

Minimum damage is 10% x character/mob level.

Combo sets

Why should I have different combo sets?

Combo sets are lineup of specific skills that allows to to adapt to situations as and when you need to. They also allow you more flexibility since squeezing all your skills into 1 bar is gonna be suicidal. In addition, different comboes steps provide on-the-fly adjustments to situations so when a new threat comes into the scene, you will be ready to take it on without much problems.

What are the main types of combo sets?

I shall go into these with abit of detail. An average person should pick 3 of of these and leave the last bar as a Buffs, Aura & BM bar. Choose according to what your skills can handle.

Note: No matter what set it is, your potion button should ALWAYS remain where it is. ALWAYS. Otherwise you'd find yourself dead cause you were tapping some other key.

Armour breaker

This set of comboes are geared towards attacking opponents that have amazingly high def values. In a pvp, its usually warriors and shielders and some of the other classes that went "heavy"

Skill types: You should go for skills with moderate-high DoCs and good cast times. These skills are least affected by the high def values and can easily nullify it.

Good against: Slow, lugging, high armoured units. Warriors DO fall into this cateogory, shielders less so, heavy FBs less so. Amazingly enough, bladers ARE slow. Their main skills have disgustingly huge cast times: saying that, a heavy blader would fall pretty easily to this combo set too

Bad against: Agile, fast, martialed units. This includes archers, wizards and FBs. One of the primary reasons is that with proper tatics, these people can make you lose your combo and attack them without it. Your skills are also probably pretty slow and thus, missing ANY particular one of it would seriously put a dent into you.

Rapid/Peirce sets

This one is aimed at break down single units with moderate or low armour. Since they have lowish armour, it means all of your spells are gonna be hitting as close to their pure DpS as possible.

Skill types: You should set skills with very low cast times around 1-2.5 seconds. Skills like Shield sharge(1.3 cast time), Assualt(1.1 cast time), Shadow shot(1.3 cast time), Vital interfere(1.0 cast time) and other such skills are perfect examples of things to add this this set. Oh FYI impact stab has the one of the highest dps when used in a combo.

Good against: Virtually anything with low armour. Your high speed attacks also mean that even if you miss an attack, its not gonna cost u alot.

Bad against: Armour-clad foes. Def is going to take a HUGE toll on this entire set. You're probably not even going to scratch your opponent very much. Which is why you need to have another set to take that on.

Advance gameplay tips: DpS, DoC, Def & Skill levels - Written By kiroshinoke - Contributed By kiroshinoke
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=348414Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-40558376690636476622008-04-20T09:38:00.003+08:002008-04-20T09:43:24.666+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - 12 Skill Experience Quest

FREE SKILL EXP

with D.T cards

- Tested and it works -

Items Needed

You will only need 12 D.T. cards.

Here is a list, what you need, party or solo is it, level requirement, how many skill XP will you earn, and where can you farm it:

D.T. In my very own warrior guide, I'll be covering the skills from Novice to Completer rank and also on how you PvP and Guild Wars better with some tactics provided commonly and uniquely.

==========
The Advantages And Disadvantages of Warrior Jobs
==========

Warriors have the advantages of the 2 factors below :

No.1 Heavy Armor = Higher Defense In-Game

No.2 High Damaging Skills Technique

Warriors do also have disadvantages as the following :

No.1 Warrior's A.Master Skill : Terra Break has a quite long casting time which gives your opponent advantage to spam twice the skills you had but in other words, it's a damaging AoE effect skill.

No.2 Warrior's overall skills are rather long in casting so you need to cover it up with strong equipments to reduce damages from PvE and PvP.

========

Warrior's Skill List

========
Flash Draw - Fast cooldown. Get it to max level 9 in your early lv10s to 20s. It's AoE based damage.

Impact Stab - Aims one mob at a time but all the damages are being focused.Remember it's single target!

Power Stab - I prefer you to max it till level 9 and just go on leveling as this doesn't have knockdown effects and such.

Fade Step - This skill is used for evading magic casting and combo-ing from your opponents in PvP. But usually you need it at level 9 so you can do quest easier from the early game till the late game where you had to fight bosses using Fade Step.

Dash - Moves quickly ahead once you used the skill. Makes you reach your destination easier.

Concentration - Max this to level 20 for increasing your attack rates in leveling. You can delete this skill anytime if you just focus on combo-ing on monsters and players alike. But if you want this in your skill list, it's still advised.

Heavy Slash - Turns around your sword at some degree and smash a single target or nearby monsters. Max this to level 9 for fast casting and lesser cooldown.

Press Impact - AoE based sword slash. Max it to level 9 as it's faster in casting.

Blade Force - Increase your attack efficiently. Max this to level 20 for improved damages. It's recommended at your lv40s to lv70s above.

Raging Thrust - Turning your sword to a drill-like attack and thrust through your foes in a straight line. Max this skill to level 9 if you please.

Rising Shot - Raises your sword in a uppercut form and attacks with AoE like degree attack. Max to level 9 and never to level 20 as you'll only get more cooldown and slower casting time.

Rising Blade - An improved version of Rising Shot. If you are out of slots,delete Rising Shot skills and just learn this to level 9.

Cascade Break - Sword skill gathered with the earths power to take out strong attacks to the earth surface. Max this to level 9 as it's advised.

Charge - It's a so-so skill for Warrior jobs for charging next to your single target. If you want this skill, just max it to level 9. Or if you really wanted this skill, learn it as your very own build.

Force Kick - Stuns for 2 seconds as you charged with a flying kick against your enemy. Max this to level 9 only cause if you max it to level 20, all you got is longer cooldown.

Rolling Crash - You'll jump up with your twisting sword and goes down with a powerful slam. AoE based sword skill that attacks fiercely to the ground monsters and opponents.

Iron Skin - Max it to level 20 for the max potential of HP and Defense.

Blade Aura - Increases your attack drastically. Max it to level 20 is advised. Improves your sword skills like Cascade Break and Rolling Crash pretty well.

Round Cut - AoE based attack that turns 360 degree near your warrior to cause decent damage. Pretty weak but if you need it, make sure it is max to level 9.

Down Breaker - Improves your knockdown effect to hit much more against your enemy. Max this to level 20 at higher levels as this puts you into the nickname " Knockdown Machine! "

Spiral Doom - Spins 360 degree AoE style to cause a 3 time damage to your opponent. Get it to level 9 or if you want to get it to level 20, it's still pretty fine for warrior.

Sword Cannon - A long range sword skill that bursts up a straight line cannon. Max it to level 9 for fast casting.

Aura Barrier - Glowing with a bright yellow orange-ish aura. It improves your HP and Defense further more. Stacks with Iron Skin. Max it to level 20 A.S.A.P!

Terra Break - Turns 360 degree and jumps from high above and cause an earthquake down below to create high damages. Max it to level 9 for decent cooldown and fast casting.

Whirlwind - An improved version of the Spiral Doom. As this is more fierce and stronger, it creates a whirlwind of powerful spinning AoE sword swings. The more monsters that gathered around you, the more the damage improves gradually. So remember to lure a large amount of monsters to show the true power of Whirlwind. Remember to get it to level 9. It's also ok for it to go for level 20 if you want a stronger damage based sword skill.

Seismic Wave - A volanic lookalike attack that shoots at straight line with highly immense damage! Max it to level 9 or the better level 20.

===========
Warrior's PvP Tactic Against Other Jobs
===========

Blader
They are agile and strong in attacks. To fight them in BM2 mode would be easy if your level are not far by 3 to 5 levels. Warrior's BM2 mode is simple, just use Dash + Normal Attack to fight against a BM2 mode Blader. When they are about to be defeated, activate your Astral Lance skill to get a final blow ahead. Be careful of their Crushing Blow techniques from their BM2 mode too. As long you pumped in HP + Defense and with good equipments, you will be easy to par with any bladers alike.

In normal BM1 or combo mode, this is where the battle is challenging. You need to have good controls of combo and never miss to beat PvP matches. Usually, bladers have advantages against warriors in this form but it's all hands down to the accurate combo count being accumulated for greater winning purpose.

Force Archer
Long ranged jobs are warrior's opponent for their long destiny ever! To fight with them, you need to have Dash + Fade Step and some warrior's skill. Preferably, use sword skills that has knockdown percentage of 85% above and you'll be easier to fight against FA's.

As for BM2 mode, it's all about getting next to them and go normal attacking and throw your Astral Lance. If you never ever get near to them , your as good as lying on floor afterwards. In later games, warriors do not fear BM2 FA's much anymore due to the high defense that reduces quite sustainable amount of damage given from the BM2 Fa's.

Force Shielder
Nearly the same as warrior's particular sword skills. To beat them in BM2 is rather easy, just use Dash and get near them and do the normal attack and do pray your knockdown effects are locked on for you to damage even further.
Be careful as some FS's defense are as tough as you could ever imagine, you may suggest buying critical slotted sword equips to battle them out. If they were to stun you with Force Kick, use your very own Force Kick if you had it. If you never learn it, it's ok. Just use ur normal sword skills that has 90% above knockdown effects for you to initiate better combo counts.

Force Blader
This is one of the toughest foe in later games. But all you need is to practise your combos used in battle. The more combos you made for etc : 15 to 30 combos would be easy advantage if the FB's initiate less than 9 to 15 combos.
Their BM2 is rather decent so you have advantage as a BM2 warrior form. In BM2 battles, all you need is to Dash and get behind their back and normal attack! Other than that, watch out for their BM2's cannon. It's a pain if you never finish them off before they take you down.

At normal modes like BM1, it's all about more damages you inflict against FB's and how they try to beat warriors too. So it's a challenging match.

Wizard
Another long range foe you have to beat. In early games, they are pretty much common to be defeated under one BM2 warrior mode's Astral Lance skill. In late games, you may need to focus on combos or a BM2 form that uses backstabbing tactics and terrain usage to beat wizards. Their normal wizard skills are high damages and it's painful for melee jobs like W's and FS's. It's all hands down to the best combo battle if you were engaged with a wizard!

Warrior
Your very own job and also your very own enemy if you faced them. It's all about who has the better equips and stronger sword skill and also who has the upper hand in skills rank and such. BM2 mode in between two warriors are all about normal attacking and Astral Lance skills. Buff yourself before you fight your very own jobs. Same applies to all the 5 other classes.

==========
Warrior's Upgrade Guide
==========
It's all about what you prefer and suitable for your PvE and PvP purposes. The skills mastery below is just part of my own preference.

HP Mastery - A must for boosting HP at every skills rank you have.
Mana Mastery - If you want to have more mana pools, learn this.But it's better not to learn it after you reach lv30s above as your mana is more than enough.
Reflex - For increasing your defense rate, learn it if you please.
Offensive Sense - Increases your attack.
Defensive Sense - Increases your defense.
Impact Control - G.Master's skill that improves your attack further.
Damage Absorb - G.Master's skill that improves your defense and make you tougher.

=========

Warrior's Skill Leveling Guide

=========
To get skills experience is a mission for all warriors, to achieve a greater skills rank to boost your stats and access to more skills.

So as to do this, what you need is the following common things in mind :

1. Get full adepts from your armors,shoes,gloves and head equips. Once you bought it. Remember to get a adept swords equip to boost more of your skills leveling process.

2. You can always punch to gain slowly for the Sword and Magic section. Increasing both slowly also eases your time as you get to balance your skills rank altogether.

3. Spamming of your sword skills are advisable too. As you progress through leveling, you'll certainly have enough time to improve your skills rank as well.

4. Most importantly, patience in-game is required! You need to invest some time to improve your skills leveling afterall.

=========

Warrior's Money Earning Guide

=========
Nothing much to explain either way. But if you really want to be rich as a warrior, all i know is about doing quest after quest.

So from lv1 till lv100, you would have accmulated at least 30-75 million alz's in game just progressing through quest!

Remember to sell slotted equips and check the market price! There's always demand but you still need patience in order to sell all your stuffs!

That's all to my guide. Hope you like it! Try stickied it if possible!

sniperzreborn's Warrior Guide @ Copyright Reserved 2008

[Guide]sniperzreborn's Warrior Guide - Written By sniperzreborn - Contributed By sniperzreborn
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=342336

Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-3257658900493610232008-04-09T09:24:00.000+08:002008-04-09T09:26:26.723+08:00Cabal SEA - Wizard Guide - Mini Skill GuideGet Magic Arrow, Burning Hand and Freeze to lv9. This is to allow faster skill training as what affects skill level is how frequent u cast your skills. You may choose other novice skills(arrows) but i personally prefer Burning Hand and Freeze because they have very low cooldown at lv9(burning hand 1.1s, freeze 1s) and very easy to combo. Reason for leaving these skills at lv9 = lowest cooldown time. Also, get Regeneration and that's it for Novice.

Reaching apprentice allows you to learn the blasts. Don't bother. This is because you will delete them anyway and Skills > level in Cabal. Start skilling asap. However, get Dig Bomb to lv9 because it's limit 2(AOE) and knocks down the enemy. Good for saving your arse when you get whooped by many mobs. For other apprentice skills, don't even look at them.

Now the regular rank. What skills can you learn lemme see.. Oh the lances. Just learn 2 of the lances, Terra Lance and Fire Lance. Reason being their high DPS as compared to the other lances at lv20 when you get your amp equipment during late game. Don't even bother touching Hydro Disk or Wind Cutter. However, if you got the alz and want to train faster, you may get it. And i was jw if Weaken is under regular. If it is, learn and max it. You'll surely need this one.

Expert - this is when your cannons come. But firstly, get Hardness and max it asap. Lightning Strike is useless as it's too slow to be of any use. Acid Trap is good at lower levels, but start to get useless at the higher levels. It's too low damage at higher levels and for it to be useful, you have to level acid trap to 20 for the max poison effect. And it'll cost you a bomb to delete it. So, simply, don't learn it. Get Stone Cannon, Fire Cannon, Lightning Cannon, maybe Aqua Cannon as well. Stone, fire and aqua are usually used for PVP while lightning is more for PVE.

For A.Expert, only 4 skills: Vacuum, Chain Explosion, Energy Field and Sharpness. and what's the point of sharpness? for a wizard to punch? so don't bother unless you wanna buff your mates and the points to spare. If you got the alz and want to train fast, learn all the other 3 as these skills are good at the low levels. Energy Field is a MUST HAVE because it has a nice cast time and stuns. However, i do not recommend Vacuum cos it's too slow, in fact **** slow. I deleted it after killing a wriggleleaf.

Get Blink and Force Increase at master. Blink is awesome when you cast it with Dash. Hailstorm is good. I realised how idiotic i was to skip hailstorm because this can temporarily replace space collapse, although it doesn't has stun. i got it to lv20 and PVE became easier. Get the resist knockback buff later in the game cos for now, we can't stack 2 spirit buffs and so the force increase buff will be cancelled if you cast the resist buff.

After 126 SLOW LEVELING, finally AM. Get Arctic Field. It's great for PVE and i mean GREAT. And for High Regeneration get it if you got the alz. I'm totally broke thanks to the AM skills =.= will get it eventually i guess. However, please note that high regen has a dumb duration of 60s (after lv80 rank up quest) and a GREAT cooldown of 180s. what the hell.

The long awaited G.Master is finally here. EXTREME DUAL CANNON OWNS SHEETS OUT & GET IT TO AT LEAST LV9 ASAP! Requirement for lv9 EDC is 75/168 ~.~ I am kinda lazy to learn acid trap to test the damage over time but people said it stacks. btw, in my opinion, it still sucks even if it stacks because the dps simply suck. Btw, spirit intension, our very first party exclusive skill, CAN BE CASTED WHEN YOUR PARTY MEMBER IS NOT NEARBY YOU.

For sword rank:
Just go to any weapon merchant, get a normal blade, then go to any instructor and learn all the sword skills you can. Now go to any monster and start spamming your flash draws and impact stabs. You'll be dealing like 5 damage on a same level mob and just keep spamming. You'll get to apprentice very soon. serious =.=" Get dash at apprentice (duh, isn't that what you want?) and max it. At lv50, when you can go to port lux, you can also choose to get the Change Force upgrade skill (magic to sword) which i will advise you to learn once yr sword rank gets to expert'ish. Because spamming with yr sword is f**king slow.

For upgrade skills,
Vitality Mastery
Reflex or Defensive Sense
Force Control
Sixth Sense
Ruling Force
Damage Absorb

SO, IN A NUTSHELL:

Magic Arrow: Lv9
Burning Hand: Lv9
Freeze: Lv9
^the above skills are for skill leveling, you may choose other novice skills.
Regeneration: Lv4
Weaken: Lv20
Terra Lance: Lv20
Fire Lance: Lv20
Hardness: Lv20
Stone Cannon: Lv20
Fire Cannon: Lv20
Energy Field: Lv18/19 (up to you but not 20, cooldown too long)
Force Increase: Lv20
Blink: Lv9
Hailstorm: i got this one to Lv20 recently, up to you to learn it.
Arctic Field: Lv12/15 (higher than 15 has retarded cooldown)
Extreme Dual Cannon: Lv9/12 (12 recommended)
Max all other buffs not mentioned above.
the remaining slots may be for skills like acid trap, chain explosion, etc. IMO it's pointless tho.

Mini SKILL Guide for WI - Written By Vodka - Contributed By LegionK
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=317105Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-52029606933572526692008-04-07T11:54:00.002+08:002008-04-09T09:26:49.891+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - Plate of Honor1th Step - Find the PoH

Is convenient use PoH since 4° Honor Rank.
The best way to drop some PoHs is to farm in Forgotten Ruin. However, there are limits of how much HP you can steal per hit on one target.

Limit 1: Character level divided by 10.
This limit can be extended by the option 2 (Max HP/MP steal per hit + x)
Limit 2: 5% of maximum HP for your character. This limit cannot be extended.

The maximum amount of HP/MP you steal is the smaller of the two limited mentioned.

Option 2: Max HP/MP Steal per Hit + x
This type of option DOES NOT actually steal hp/mp. It adds to the limit 1 to become the maximum amount of HP/MP that you can steal.

Example:

1. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 3000, HP steal = 5%, Damage dealt = 2000, Target = 1 monster.

HP steal 5% effect : 2000 x 0.05 = 100
Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 12

Net Effect : HP 12 x 1 absorb

5% of HP absorb for 2000 damage is 100 HP, but because of limit 1, the maximum amount of HP steal is 120/10 = 12 HP. So without adding option 2, high % of HP/MP absorption is almost meaningless.

2. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 3000, HP absorb = 5%, Max HP steal per hit + 50, Damage dealt = 2000, Target = 1 monster.

HP steal 5%` : 2000 x 0.05 = 100
Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
HP steal limit+50 : Limit 1 extended to 12+50 = HP 62
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 62
Net Effect : HP 62 x 1 absorb

The limit for HP steal in this case is now 12 + 50 = 62. So the added option 2 adds a huge amount of HP steal.

3. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 3000, HP absorb = 5%, Max HP/MP steal per hit + 50, Damage dealt = 2000 per monster, Target = 5 monsters.

HP steal 5%` : 2000 x 0.05 = 100
Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 3000 x 0.05 = HP 150
HP steal limit+50 : Limit 1 extended to 12+50 = HP 62
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 62
Net Effect : HP 62 x 5 = HP 310 absorb

The effect of HP steal increase as the number of target monsters increases. However, the limits still apply on each monsters.

4. Char level = 120, Char Max HP = 2000, HP absorb = 10%, Increase HP absorption limit + 120, Damage dealt = 2000, Target = 1 monster

HP steal 5%` : 2000 x 0.10 = 200
Limit 1 : 120/10 = HP 12
Limit 2 : 2000 x 0.05 = HP 100
HP steal limit+120 : Limit 1 extended to 12+120 = HP 132
Lower of limit 1 and 2 = HP 100
Net Effect : HP 100 absorb

This example shows how the maximum HP affects the limit of HP absorption. This shows that having high maximum HP also is important for optimum HP steal.

Conclusion:

The two vampiric options (steal HP/MP x% of damage and Max HP/MP Steal per hit + x ) have to work hand in hand in order for effective HP/MP absorption.

List of item with option “Steal HP/MP x% of damage”
- Life/Mana absorption ring
- Force absorption ring
- Extortion ring
- Life/Mana absorp bracelet
- Extortion bracelet
- Vampiric gloves from professional crafting
- Force core upgrade in slotted item (lvl 2 random option, need 2 force cores)

List of item with option “Max HP/MP Steal per hit + x”
- Vampiric Amulet
- Vampiric Earring
- Vampiric helmet and boots from professional crafting
- Force core upgrade in slotted item (lvl 2 random option, need 2 force cores)

For now, one would wear just one x% force absorption ring and a vampiric amulet in grinding to save HP and MP potion (if you configure your items correctly, you can even grind without using potion). In some high level dungeon, vampiric item can even save your life.

It is not hard to note that the common limiter in HP/MP steal is usually limit 1 (char lvl). If you do decent damage on monsters, 4% of HP/MP absorption ring is normally enough. However, without the “Max HP/MP steal per hit +x ” in vampiric amulet or other vampiric item, the maximum amount of HP/MP absorb is very little.

[Guide]Vampiric Option on Item - Written By key2chaos - Contributed By key2chaos
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=329033Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-32481877169450834062008-03-24T13:18:00.002+08:002008-03-28T09:14:14.300+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - Lake In dust GuideLake In Dusk - Level 75

What do I need? (Requirements)

Being Level 75
Have a Map Part in your inventory
Have 60 minutes free to kill without resting, that's the time that the dungeon lasts

Where's the entrance?

Lake In Dusk Guide - Step by Step:

1. Once you enter, go forward, skip Wurk if you want and kill the next boss, Wurk isn't important for advancing in the dungeon.

2. Go forward and kill Radark, and a door will open to complete next steps.

3. Advance and you'll find Jidarsch, kill him.

08-31-2007
http://forum.cabalonline.com/showthread.php?t=7225

Lake In dust Guide - Written By InF3RNo - Contributed By fyesan
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=323687Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-42681118916994896602008-03-24T13:05:00.001+08:002008-03-24T13:06:41.474+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - In-depth upgrading guide
Author's note

Before you flame or accuse anything, hear me out first. I found the upgrade guide we have currently too simple and also it might be a bit hard to understand for the newbies. So this is my version of CabalSEA's upgrading guide.

1. Starting out

The core alchemist npc should be the main interest for everyone, there is one in every town. But at the moment, Fort Ruina's core alchemist does not include upgrading services.

2. The upgrade window

After clicking the upgrade options when you talked to the core alchemist, you will come to this window. They are three columns which you should take note of:

- The item you're upgrading
- Force cores/Upgrade cores
- Catalyst

2.1 Upgrading the equipment

Important - the equipment you're upgrading must be slotted!

Don't get confused with another term of upgrading in this game. Just remember upgrades at the core alchemist uses Force cores while the other uses Upgrade Cores (low/medium/high) and doesn't require the usage of the core alchemist. Another thing to note of the equipment is that they may come in one or two slots. The cash shop (not yet available) has an item called a slot extender which can further extend slots on your slotted equipment. But if I'm not wrong, the maximum you can achieve is only three slots.

Slotted equipment can only be gotten off mobs, quest or bought off players. Two slots equipments off mobs are of course, uncommon.

2.2 Cores

Then comes the important part of the upgrade you can't do without, force cores. They are the one responsible for the options that may be given to your slotted equipment. Please note the following...

1) For level 1 upgrades, only one force core is needed
2) For level 2 upgrades, you need two force cores but there is only a 25% chance to achieve a level 2 upgrade and furthermore, what you may get is completely random.
3) The last slot is used for upgrade cores BUT it's to increase the overall success chance. And the better the core, the higher the success chance. (Alternatively, you can also use one force core and two upgrade cores if you want a higher success chance on your level 1 upgrade)

2.3 Catalyst

The catalyst is to determine which stat your equipment you're upgrading will have. And your catalyst must be slotted so don't be surprised if you cannot place a non slotted equipment inside.

An upgraded (eg. +1/2/3/4...) catalyst will further increase the success chance. See the difference in success chance as compared to the first screenshot? (my catalyst is a +5 in my case)

Refer to the picture below to see what catalyst gives what stat

Things to take note of:

1) Some equipment are unable to receive a certain stat (eg. in the first column, only boots and suits are able to achieve a HP stat)
2) Just in case people forget, level 2 upgrades are random and cannot be determined by the use of catalysts. But to play safe, always make sure what level 1 upgrade you want if the level 2 upgrade fails. (reason being if you didn't make to a level 2 upgrade, at least the next option will be the desired stat you want thanks to the catalyst instead of a random level 1 upgrade stat)
3) The catalyst used must either be one grade less/equal or many grades higher than the equipment you're upgrading (eg. for Osmium, as a catalyst the lowest grade usable is Shadow Titanium. Anything Osmium or higher is usable)

3.Tips

- Usually the 75% base chance success is good enough, but unless you're investing heavily into a single upgrade, you can cut back on upgrade cores
- The best level 1 upgrades are critical damage increase and HP
- Only consider upgrading IF you're very sure you're gonna use that particular equip for a while (so naturally usually anything <>)

4. Some examples of godly upgraded equipment

If there's anything I missed out or needs to be corrected, feel free to point out. I hope this guide was helpful.

In-depth upgrading guide - Written By Larg - Contributed By Larg
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=323047Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-78481452639412735352008-03-21T14:42:00.001+08:002008-03-21T14:44:27.148+08:00Cabal SEA - Force Blader Guide - Force Blader GuideTable Of Contents

Section 1 - [ About TS & FB ]

1a. About [za]

Hello everyone, Im Opticon from channel 20 of Venus channel...
Im here making a Force Blader guide and I dont welcome any
flamers here, I will just try my best to let people who are unaware
of Force Bladers skills / etc...

Also, about the [za],[zb] all those things are just to make it
easy for those who seek that section's help, basically ...
Hold Ctrl & Press F to [FIND] And type in the code names like..
[za] , [zb] , [zc] , etc...

==============================================
1b. Why Choose Force Blader ? [zb]

The meaning of Force Blader is
Force [ Using Of Magics ]
Sword [ Using Of Fancy Sword Skills ]
So, if you like Fancy sword skills with magic enchanting powers
YOU SHOULD CHOOSE FORCE BLADER !
Because force blader uses magic to enchant himself
for great status and later use sword skills to damage greatly...
Also mixing magic power skills for offense.

==============================================
1c. Pros & Cons Of Force Blader [zc]

Pros

1. Have Fancy Sword Skills & Magic Enchantments.
2. Have Neat AoE Skills & "Poison" Skills Great For PvP.
3. Quite a Number of STUN Skills which is GOOD !
4. Able to inflict neat damages.

Cons

1. Need some time to train BOTH sword and magic skills.
2. Unlike wizard, need enchantments to deal neat damages.

==============================================
Section 2 -
==============================================
2a. How To Train a Force Blader ? [zd]

Training a Force Blader at low level is quite a hard job to handle.
As you inflict low damage because of your [ Equal Stats ]
<>
So, the best thing to do is have a partner that is able to help you
complete your quest easily or get a number of POTIONS to aid you.
Also, always remember to use BUFFS example .. Suitable Training Spot While Low Level [ze]

AS it mentioned, LOW LEVEL. Well I shall name them now,
If you find it not good please inform me , I will change to one
that you recommend, please do not just say its not recommended.
Please recommend a new spot too.

Level 1-4 >
[ Green Despair ]
Mantis, Troglo

[ Desert Scream ]
Garlie, Giant Beetle

[ Bloody Ice ]
Nipperlug, RabbitHorn

Level 4-10 >
[ Green Despair ]
Troglo Fighter, Troglo Elder, Troglo Warrior, Dire Boar

[ Desert Scream ]
Red Garlie, Garlie Captain, Desert Fox, Desert Hound

[ Bloody Ice ]
Scorlug, Lynxhorn, Zombie Maid, Zombie

==============================================
2c. Status Distribution [zf]

AS I mention earlier, its hard to level for low level FB because of
Equal Stats, well, if you wanna level EASIER while at low level,
get a partner or INCREASE Strength first and delay wearing better armor
& sword.

Well, the distribution of STATUS is easy, just follow what the
Growth says. Growth is stated at ...
First, press C or Character Box
Then see top left of the box, there would write
Growth Level 10 -> STR ?? DEX ?? INT ??
And would continue as level increases...

==============================================
Section 3 -
==============================================
3a. Magic Or Sword ? [zg]

Force Bladers Uses BOTH of them , so theres so DEFINITE anwser of
Magic or sword, because some may use sword skill with magic buffs.
Also some may use Magic Blast from long range and Sword skills
while melee`ing. So , different people may differ.

==============================================
3b. Skill Expectation ... [zh]

Theres no DEFINITE anwser too for skill expectation
For some people they may think HIGH LEVEL
Should have HIGH SKILLS LEVEL, and some may think
LOW LEVELS with HIGH SKILL LEVEL will be very great.
In my opininion, Low level with high skill level is the best ;D
Because you can easily win Enemies and Players same level as you
but not same skill level as you in PvP.

==============================================
3c. How To Train Both Skills... [zi]

The EASIEST way of all is to PUNCH with adept full set
Or if your low level, just use normal punch by
unequipping your weapon & orb or both handed things.
You have to punch for a quite long of time, say maybe ...
2 Hours? or 1 Hours?? Hahas, Just take your time occupy yourself
with something else and punch a monster suitable.
If your level 4, maybe you could try punching Troglo Fighter.
If your somewhat like level 16? You can punch Bugzard.

==============================================
Section 4 -
==============================================
4a. Ruina, one are the four legged cannons, those are the -OPs. The others are the one legged (at the end of Fort. Ruina), those are the -EXs.

Now let's get on it.

Part 1: Sell items needed by crafters. (the level 70 party cards)

You all know crafters, those wealthy people who waste tones of cash for the sake of creating super items.

You, will be the supply of those items, and in TONES (because we want to make 20 or 30 millions, not 30k)

The auto-cannons-op will be the key here.

Those little things, drop some Dungeon Time cards (known as D.T. cards), when you train on them, you have to take a look on those 3 cards.

-Mummy grave (party) lv 70.
-Parasite house (party) lv 70.
-Skeleton mine (party) lv 70.

Given you're already g.master or completer on your main rank should suffice for you to solo them (and they give some good exp, so you will get lv 75 in no time)

At the end of the dungeon you'll have to face 3 bosses, no worries, they're just normal mobs, now what's worthy of those dungeons is what the bosses drop.

Droplist :

-Titanium Slot +0 (clean or amped) note : mobs drop those too.
-Titanium 2 slots + 0 (usefull to craft will/deathblow)
-Force and upgrade core (high)

Now you will take those, and sell them, how much for?

-Titanium single slot +0 (clean) around 250k a piece.
-Titanium single slot +0 +5%magic/sword amp on slot (given you're lucky enough to get those, i'd suggest to get a price check since price vary depending on the part you get)
-Titanium single slot +4 skill exp, around 8-12m
-Titanium Double slot +0 (slots clean) goes from 2 to 4m, any part except gloves, those are worthless.
-Force core : 200-250k
-Upgrade core : usually 200-400k

Note : at this point i would also look for cheap map parts, i mean CHEAP ones, so keep an eye for them if you can spare cash.

Part 2 : The lake in dusk.

So, during part one we made it to lv 75 and made some good cash, now remember i told you to farm auto cannons exs apart from ops?

By this time you should have some map parts, so let's use them.

Now, what do they drop to make them so valuable?

Droplist :

-Force core (high)
-Upgrade core (medium)
-Titanium slot (any type, clean, amped, etc.)
-Shadowtitanium no slot/slot/2slots (sells for some cash at the NPC) / 2 slots can be sold to c rafters
-Aqua orbs/Crystals no slot/slot/2slots (sells for some cash at the NPC) / 2 slots can be sold to c rafters
-Adept/bless bracelets +0 and +1, pick and wear if you need, if not, sell to the npc.
-Extract potions, pick and use in case you need, if not, sell them via stall.
-Osmium weapons, lapis weapons, no slot (250k), single slot (2-3m), 2 slots (15-30m), 2 slots with crit rate on first slot (60-100m)
-Osmium Armours : single slot, either to the npc, or in case of helms you can stall for 200k, Double sloted, from 300k (suits, i'd rather npc) to 500k-1m (helms, gloves, boots)
-Shadow epaulette of sage/guard/fighter, around 10m for any kind.

Special drops:
-Crafted shadowtitanium with 0-1-2 slots, price varies depending what part you get, i suggest to make a price check before doing anything with those.
-Crafted osmium, same as shadowtitanium.

Well here, what you will do is take all stuff you get droped, npc the adept/bless things, same with the slot/no slot shadowtitanium (unless it's amped or with skill exp, do not npc those!), and you set a stall with force cores, med cores, extract potions, and any other rare drop you get on the runs.
This is it, enjoy making some money and watching your character grow.

Regards.

A more accurate priceguide to be added, i'd like someone who plays on jupiter server to give me accurate information about the prices, thanks.

================================================== ====================

Hey! I'm just posting this to show the three main techniques used in making money. Each can be used in conjunction with the next.

Technique Number 1: Farming.

Farming is the first way that everyone makes money...

You pick up the monster drops and sell them to shops, or other players via personal shop.

To use your personal shop, click on yourself, then at the top use the drop down menu. Select 'Personal Shop', then stock up and sell. ^_^.

Some drops will be extremely expensive. Cores, Epaulettes, Double Slot items etc.. Can be sold in the personal shop for a huge amount more than the NPC shops will buy them for. So don't make any mistakes about pricing items.

Technique Number 2: BLSH (Buy low, sell high)

Most merchants' favourite way of making money.

You buy an item at a fairly low price, and then re-sell it for a slightly higher price than that which you paid. Repeat however many times you can be bothered.

Remember: Higher level items and lower level items take a lot longer to sell. Mid-level items are best for this technique e.g. Upgrade Core Mediums, Force Core Highs, Bluestin/Titanium Armour, EoX+3/4, Level 40-100 Jewellery.

Last but not least:

Technique Number 3: Crafting

It's a pain. Yes. I know, but stick with it. It'll make you millions in the long run.

First off, once you reach level 50 you'll get the Map Code to Port Lux. Once there, the Core Alchemist will have a quest for you, the reward for such will be a Transmuter of your choosing: Armourset, Martialset, Battleset, Artifact etc..

Once you've picked your type, you can start breaking down armour, jewelery and weapons into their crafting materials.

After you make your items, you can sell them at any price you want. Personally I make them as cheap as possible, so I make a tiny bit more Alz than I spent, to increase sale speed.

Adept Items sell the best, as more people favour Skill Exp. So once you're able to make Adept in that certain type, it's advisable to stay with that until you can do the next type. Although a lot of people do all the enchantments anyway.

Make sure you're always keeping prices around the average or you'll never sell anything.
If the prices are too low you'll know about it when your items disappear extremely fast. If so, raise the price a bit next time.

Originally Posted by soundwave3

Money Guide - Written By soundwave3 - Contributed By SnowFrog
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=319647Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-37491397017281255462008-03-21T10:24:00.001+08:002008-03-21T10:25:22.332+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - Skill EXP GuideMethod1 Fast Skill XP Farming with using Combo

When you reach your eleventh hit then the action bar becomes very little but when you reach the fifthteen hit you gain additional skill xp and your combo is shown at the right window at the bottom!

PRO Fast Rank-UP; Combo-Support; Extra Skill XP;

CONTRA You must stay at the PC; Old PC's have a low FPS rate (Frames per second) so its hard to hit the action bar after the 11th hit;

To skill afk (away from keyboard) there are 2 hints:

Now stop pressing the button and your char should cast nonstop without pressing a button! important is that you dont minimize the window (otherwise it will abort)!

Ingame Shop Hint:

Just press the button again like at the Window-Mode-Hint and while pressing it hit the ingameshop button (little coin at the right buttom of your toolbar).

PRO You can be afk; 1/3 of the rank can be trained

CONTRA It takes a long time because you gain less xp then with the other methods; limited to 30% of the rank (exept you are level 90+ and did the rankup quest); you HAVE to be a premium member;

NEW Method2 b) Train at dummies over 30%

Like mentioned before we are now able to skill at dummies beyond 30%. The mean thing is that you HAVE to be 90+, did the level 90 rank up quest and own a premium account. If you have these things then you are able to level nonstop at those little dumb puppets without being at the PC (you can rank up to transcender). But there is a little thing which has to get mentioned:
After you passed 30% of your rank up (example: 30 of 90 ups) then you get less skill xp as before! So skilling up needs more time after the 30% (but of course you can continue)!

PRO No dumb skill farming anymore; you can skill up afk; nonstop skilling without interruption;

CONTRA Again you need to be premium; takes more time then any other method;

You can buy them from other players (really expensive!) or buy them via playershop.(coming soon)

PRO You can be afk and gain a lot of Skill XP;

CONTRA Riskfull; Expensive (because of the Lifecapsules); I recommend to do this when you reach level 50+;

Method4 Boxing

Last but not least...
this method is similiar to Method3 - you beat up a mob while being AFK.
At level 50 and rank "Expert" you can buy a interesting upgrade skill at the Instructor in Port Lux (he's standing next to the vulcans - not in town).
Skills are called:
1. Sword XP to Magic XP
2. Magic XP to Sword XP
This means: When you buy "Sword to Magic" you ONLY recieve Magic Skill XP!

PRO AFK-Skill-Leveling;

CONTRA Less Skill XP than using other methods; Expensive (because of Lifecapsules); You must be level 50+ and at least rank "Expert" in one section;

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credits , Vi0

Skill EXP Guide - Written By SnowFrog - Contributed By SnowFrog
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=319658Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-24744908067223283042008-03-17T09:10:00.001+08:002008-03-17T09:12:04.386+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - The Simple Cabalier's Guide On PvP Fighting And ConductNope, I'm no pro, maybe most of this guidelines are even obvious, but anything to help.

NEW IMPORTANT NOTE :
Although in Cabal Korea, which is the most up-to-date version of Cabal, your Combo will 100% be broken the moment you get Knockdown-ed; in CabalSEA CLOSED BETA there seems to be two sides to things.
Sometimes ppl get KD'ed and break combo, others get KD'ed and continue whacking in a split second, or owning =o
Guide will be updated on "Knockdowns" in OBT.

Can't Fade or Dash in Combo? Look at FireCloud's thread : http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=297654

1) Train your Combo. Neither I or the other players around can emphasize how important Combo is; it makes sure all your skills hit, and plus cancels the unimportant part of your skill-casting; ok short and sweet, your skills cast faster.
That means, quick ownage.

2) Fade Step and Dash accordingly, and use them in Combo too. Fade Stepping is a strange one, most ppl thinks hey, Fade Step is useless(like one of the guide-makers around here) but lemme tell you something:
Fade Step does to your opponent as a mob dying does to your opponent.
They lose target on you, they have to click on you again, that's wad makes Fading so cool and make PvPs more "high"! Coz if you Fade your opponent has to spend extra effort just to re-lock on to you, and if they Fade, you have to re-target too ^.^
Plus it covers more distance and is much faster than Rolling, sure in low-lvl PvP u can roll all you want, but in higher lvls we can just click on your while you're rolling and then cast a G. Master on your butt later.

Dashing is the trick to winning for melee characters. 'Coz Force Archers and Wizzies won't be dashing that often in PvPs you'll want to use one Dash to cover two of their Fade Steps. Their Fading gets very annoying after a while, especially if you let them knock you down from afar; start your combo with a dash!

3) Keep your enemy in front of you, at all costs. Use the Force(camera).
Simple enough, nobody likes getting b-sed at the wrong moment. Get a good mouse, if not make sure you swing hard and good with your old ghey Digitek mouse.
Make sure your opponent is in front of you, adjust your cam accordingly.
When they're in front you dun need to panick that much when they Fade away.
Scroll in or out accordingly, don't zoom in too much so that you can only see your own character, but dont zoom out too much either, hard for you to click on your target.

4) Keep your knockdowns handy.
It has been proven that knockdowns work in CabalSEA to interrupt combos. I was going PvP all the way yesterday be4 closing and sometimes while I como-ed and this Warrior KD'ed me, my Combo broke even tho he didn't Fade or Roll away.
A well-timed KD can turn the tide of the battle; but if you dun have one handy, then speed is of the essence, though higher-rank skills will give you 1 or 2 KD skills sooner or later.
Of course some skills give you 100% immunity(blader/warrior) and 10%(others) but you dun wanna rely on your skills too much, rely on urself!

5) Get a good mouse hand and pair of eyes.
You don't wanna Combo happily halfway and then the Force Archer Fades once, there goes ur combo coz you didn't click on her fast enuff =/

6) Buffs up, please.
Later in game, one Lightning Enchant can turn the tide of battle.
Have courtesy and remind your opponent by saying "Buffs up".

7) Heal up before fighting.
This is duh, painfully obvious but I've seen people who fights a PvP right after he/she finished 1 and forgot to heal up.
Don't blame others if that happen =o
I did this a few times meself, tho xD

8) All equips up!
idk about you guys, but I sometimes end up fighting a 3x wiz(I'm 2x) with my 3/3 attack katana because I was training mah skillz >_>
sucks to be me.
so next time if you're training skills in Port Lux, make sure to check equip first ^_^

9) Fight fairly.
By this I mean, if you wanna use Aura for fighting, make sure your opponent is agreeable/does it too.
If you wanna use BM1 or BM2, both of you use it, enuff said.
Kind of pain for me to fight 3x warriors using Berserker even though I have Regular-rank Sword >_>

That's all folkies, got anything more plzzz point it out ^_^

The Simple Cabalier's Guide On PvP Fighting And Conduct - Written By Kurosaki Ichigo - Contributed By Kurosaki Ichigo
http://forums.playpark.net/showthread.php?t=303300Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7729728529178924495.post-59710440042932332812008-03-16T14:10:00.001+08:002008-03-16T14:10:59.898+08:00Cabal SEA - Misc Guide - Kada's Guide to Combo Practice and Etc.Would you like to improve your combo count past 11 but don't know how? Here's how ;

1. Use the noobest weapon.

Noobest weapon allows you to have the minimum damage, that means the monster can last longer and you can whack more

2. Find somewhere secluded.

Try to find somewhere with no people around, you don't want anyone ksing your combo dummy, would you?

3. Find a suitable target.

There are 3 targets that you might want to practice on;

I. "Boss" monsters; like Scoulug +, Armaku +, Black Snake, Huge Spider and Highzard. These monsters have high hp, so they can take your blows while giving off relatively low damage.

II. Normal monsters; you have to lure a handful of monsters so that switching between them can be easier. This is a great way to practice comboing+switching between monsters. When the monster is near death and your skill is swinging, quickly change to the next monster and continue combo. Quite difficult. Don't lure it somewhere public, do it somewhere secluded or else Kurosaki Ichigo will pwn you with his purple font. Don't forget to use regeneration skill as you'll be focusing on the combo rather than your hp.

III. Friends; PvP or PK. The perfect dummy, ask them not to move and try not to kill them in the process

How to Combo?
Assign the combo button somewhere. Right click it to iniate combo, now move your fingers to at least 3 skills. Alternate between each one, and be careful. If you start with button 3, 2, 1, stick with that pattern. Because the cooldown of each skill requires time, let say you press 3, 2, 1, then 3, 1, 2, the button 1 might not be done yet, so combo will be canceled.

Why can't I combo?
Several possibilities;

1. No mana. Go restock ler >_>
2. No SP. See that yellow bar below your mp? Yeah that's your SP. You get that by hitting+get hit by monsters.
3. Skill cooldown. Comboing with 2 skills only is impossible, as warrior I use 2 sword skills + 1 magic skill to combo.
4. Monster is dead. Go figure.

Extra Note
Ever play Audition or O2Jam? There's a trick to getting pass the 11th combo. Try taking a stopwatch. Now if you stop when you see 1.00 second, it'll stop at 1.5 second. So how do you get the 1.00 second? You press before it gets to 1.00. Master this and you will master the combo.

It's basicly the same concept, the trick is to press before it reaches. From my tips above, it'll give you the orpotunity to reach 11th combo in the first place. This part is how to surpass it. Judge the speed of the combo bar, and see where it stops. Predict the time takes for you to press the button and for it to stop, where it stop, and use it to your advantage.

Hope my guide here helps, happy comboing

Disclaimer ; My highest combo was like 19 or something, too bad I don't know which button is the screenshot button. *emo* I'll try to get it higher and then post teh screenshot. For now, any questions you would like to ask?

Oh and don't mind my comment about Kurosaki Ichigo xD I was just kidding, he's cool. Except he PKs me when I had no mana pots, gasp!
